Notifications

Sparqbox sends notifications across four channels. Workspace admins set defaults; individual users override per event in their personal preferences.

The four channels

  1. In-app, read in the Notifications view in the sidebar and in the bell icon at the top right.
  2. Email, transactional emails from hello@sparqbox.com. Available on every plan.
  3. Push, web push to subscribed browsers. Best-effort; expired subscriptions are dropped automatically.
  4. Slack, direct messages and channel posts when your workspace has the Slack integration connected (Growth and Scale).

The event matrix

Events are grouped under Ideas, Evaluations, Campaigns, and System.

Ideas

Defaults vs personal preferences

Section titled “Defaults vs personal preferences”

Two layers control what a user receives.

  • Workspace defaults, set by admins in Settings → Notifications. They override the hardcoded defaults above.
  • User preferences, set by each user in their personal preferences. They override the workspace defaults.

A change at either layer takes effect immediately.

System security alerts ignore both layers and always send. This is by design; admins must hear about security events even if they've muted everything else.
